I have spinal stenosis disk bulge etc. I am trying to avoid back surgery or am looking for info on the surgery |
I am a nurse and am exploring pro and cons of back surgery vs. complimentary/alternative therapy. Can anyone enlighten me? I have been using magnetics, far-infared, massage, nutrition, wt loss, physical therapy SI belt, traction and exploring a purchase of a new sleep system @ hhtp://www.mynikken.net/winters I am also strongly thinking of going on another route with my nursing career as I am BSN educated but am also 50 and need to re-think whether to leave floor nursing .... I am told if I continue the same work and have surgery, I will just need to have additional surgeries. Any info would be greatly appreciated. FYI I am worker's comp and have been working through this whole thing for over a year. Any info or Facts and Figures would be greatly appreciated. When there look up your First of all, you will HAVE to change your job. You cannot work as a nurse standing all day with this type of back. Do you have scoliosis???????? I had to have 2 major back surgeries last yr. but i have severe scoliosis so i don't know if yours is like mine or what???? But i also had the spinal stenosis which means narrowing of that part of the back which is painful also. I did physical therapy which only made things worse. I ended up having to have my lumber fused and lost 2 inches in height. Now i have to have a total hip replacement?????????? I hope your situation doesn't get as bad as mine has. I don't see how you are going to avoid surgery??? and you should know this as you are a nurse??????????? |
