How long does it take to be a nurse practitioner?

I already have a bsn and I am planning to be a nurse practitioner

Since you already have a BSN degree, you need to be licensed as a Registered Nurse. Next step would be undertaking a masteral degree (Masteral Degree in Nursing) as the minimal requirement which you can achieve in four years. Once you completed successfully your master's education, you have to take an exam to be a Nurse Practitioner.

That will take a total of about 5 years to be a nurse practitioner after becoming a BSN,RN.

Most programs I know of require two years work experience and the program itself takes two years.
