Nurses with a BSN, question for you:?

I am a freshman Nursing student, I want to get a job at a hospital this summer. What should I apply for and how? Where should I look, or should I just call or send my resume in to hospitals? What did you do as a job before you graduated?

I have been working at a fitness center for 3 years on campus (I switched majors so I'm really behind) and I really want to start getting experience in the medical field. I am not a CNA.

Also do you think it's bad that I will graduate when I'm 24 years old ?

I am a nursing student also and work in a hospital as a nursing student. You need to contact the human resources dept of the local hospitals and ask if they hire nursing students. They will tell you if they do or not and, if so, what departments they have opening available. You may have to be so far into the nursing program before they will hire you. But, getting hands on experience will help you tremendously in school. I will graduate this year and I work in critical care unit.
