Doctor or nurse please help!!!?

My husband has an odd smell to his penis. It is not pleasant. He is not circumsized, every time he comes home from deployment I get a bacterial infection and a bladder infection. I thought it could be a build up of bacteria under his skin so he tried washing better, no change. My husband has never had sex with anyone else and he is not cheating on me. And he did not lie to me. We were best friend before we got together. When he is deployed he is under the ocean on a submarine. so get that out of your mind. There is got to be another explination.I have never had a yeast infection. I was thinking maybe I gave an infection to him, got mine cleared and he keeps giving it back to me. I thought men cant get bacterial infections. It cant be an std because I have been tested for everything. He has no burning, redness, or irritation. What could it be.?
please no sick comments..I will report it. , this is a problem that everyone goes through.

I'm on a submarine, and have come across guys who have had similar symptoms as you describe, however all over their body, and more severe. For them it was due to the chemical monoethanolamine we use to scrub Caron Dioxide (CO2) from the atmposhphere. We call monoethanolamine, Amine or MEA for short.

Now I AM NOT a doctor, or corpsman, but mention it to your doctor, andsee if you can be tested to see if you show an adverse affect to it.

This is the same chemical that saturates and causess that funny odor on all your husbands clothes when he gets back from an underway. My wife complains about the smell everytime I get back from sea.

Here is the Material Data Saftey Sheet (MSDS) for monoethanolamine http://64.233.169.104/search?q=cache:GLc...

If he's giving you an infection and not taking medication himself, then he still has the infection and can keep giving it to you every time you are intimate.

It's best if he sees a doctor and explains the situation to him.. including about the bad smell. His doctor may want to do a smear to see what bacteria if any are living in your hubby's nether-regions.

Good Luck!

I hope nobody makes fun of you, because that would be a totally inappropriate response.

Men can indeed get bacterial infections--not necessarily from sexual contact either.

Sometimes yeast and fungal infections can be very stubborn. I think you have something that you are passing back and forth.

My free advice is worth every penny you pay for it. I'm not a doctor. Please go to one, or this will never clear up. You are better off than most couples, because with long deployments there will be no sexual contact and the prescribed medications will be able to work. The hitchhikers remain present long after the symptoms are gone, so some couple get "down to business" as soon as the symptoms are gone.

I would suggest you husband get circumcised, this should take care of part of the problem. Even if he washes, it's in a bad spot, always damp, breeding bacteria.
The next thing would be to wash before sex. This might help. You are more then likely passing this flora back and forth.
You should both be treated and abstain until it's proven your clean. I suggest you speak to your primary physician about this, see what he says.

My husband has never had sex with anyone else and he is not cheating on me

Unless he has taken a Lie detector test you cant possible know that!

As for the explaination -- this is a forum for STDS and you just told us you have been tested for everything!? So you all ready "know" its not an Std?

sounds like he has some kind of STD, but if you have been tested: maybe you should go to the Doctors and ask them (next time you get this)
