Gynecological question...a little graphic...sorry.?

Yesterday I had the coloscopy done and they dr used this mustard colored medicine to stop the bleeding. Her and the nurse both told me to expect a thick discharge over the next few days because of all of the medicine they used. Does anyone know that this medicine is? I should have asked the name of it because I worry about everything and always look things up on the internet, but I didnt and dont want to call the dr yet because I feel like I am being a pain. Anyway, I have not had any discharge and its actually all hardened on the outside and inside. Is this normal? I am just making sure that whats going on should really be going on. It also burns a little when I pee but after the procedure yesterday I am assuming that everything is just irritated.
Help please

I'm going to assume you had a colposcopy, a procedure on the cervix..

The mustard stuff is called Monsel's solution, and you may expect it to look like coffee grounds for a few days as you expell it. The stuff turns black on exposure to blood.

If you were anesthetised during your procedure, they may have put a urinary catheter in during the procedure, which may explain your burning on urination.

If you haven't had ANY discharge in a few days, I would definately advise you to contact your physician. Usually the biggest concern after this procedure is bleeding - it sounds at this point like the Monsel's is doing its job!

Oh - and as a side note - do NOT listen to above poster. DO NOT by any means douche, use tampons, or the like. Your cervix needs to heal without mechanical obstruction or introducing sources of infection.

I had it done a few years ago. I don't know what the medicine was called, but I remember them telling me the discharge could start in a day or two and that it would look like coffee grounds.

No, there is no mustard colored medicine or discharge or bleeding usually after colonoscopy. Bleeding maybe scant if they took any polyps out, otherwise no.

Go to the ER or a different doctor. You should feel about the same as when you went in.

Are you sure you are not talking about a barium enema X-ray? Where they put barium in there and then after the x-ray it comes back out (also called a lower GI test)?

do not worry, let your doctor do all the worrying.that is whey get paid for.

dThey use a vinegar solution during this procedure. What bleeding are you talking about. They use an instrument called a colposcope to look inside the vagina and the vinegar solution will make all abnormal areas like venereal warts etc show up white in colour. These will be sent for biopsy to detect cancer. These problems are cause by sexually transmitted diseases which come from unprotected sex from people who have multiple sexual partners and keep spreading the diseases.

Douche. Stop harassing your doctor. You pay her to put weird stuff in your cooter, not answer all your childish little questions.
