What do I do to stop feeling burnt out quick? |
I'm in the nursing program and I really don't think I can take it anymore. I've been shooting for A's and have no freakin life! I have 3 more wks left til summer break....2 more yrs til graduation. These past 2 wks...I haven't even opened any books...I"m mentally, emotionally, and physically exhausted. I think I'll let my grades slip this semester it's not worth stressing over because I really can't stand this anymore. Should I let my grades slip...it's almost finals week or give another push...the thing is...i really believe i have no more energy left... I think you might be so caught up in the "letter grades", you've forgotten that 'learning' is the more important part of your education. Stop thinking of it as a competition. Education is an experience, not one big exam. Do your best to enjoy it, that's the only way you'll get good at it. the only cure for this is to graduate. then you'll have money and a social job and horrific stories of how crappy school was to share with your friends. Have you ever wondered if maybe you are feeling this way because nursing just isn't something you really want to do anymore? When I first entered college I changed my major 4 times until I took some courses in the subject I realized I was not only good at, but also interested me. Then once I got into the program I really wanted to be in, I enjoyed going to classes. I'm going to graduate here in a few weeks so I know exactly how you are feeling about it wanting to be over...but you still have 2 years left. That is a big difference. Maybe that is because there is something else that has truly always interested you and you never took the leap to try it. Just something to think about. Remember, you are going to be doing this for a good period of your life after you graduate...something to think about for what you might really want to do, or what you even see yourself doing for that matter. If you do realize that there is something else you want to do, don't think about it as nursing being a waste of your time and so many years down the drain and starting over. You have to do what is going to make you happy, and if that means something other than nursing, then maybe that is a chance you might have to be willing to take. |
