UTI or Interstitial Cystitis? you be the judge.?

JAN 16th, 2008 I went to the ER for UTI symptoms. I had blood in my urine, discharge, burning... normal UTI symptoms. I tested positive for uti and they gave me meds for 3 days. After i took the meds i still had symptoms bad so i went back and tested negative for uti but the nurse still gave me meds. I was on meds for 2 weeks and my symptoms kinda went away but i still had a little burning and my urine would come out slow then fast then slow again. so i went back to the doctors and they gave me more meds and set up a physical. i still had symptoms after the 3rd set of meds were done but i went for my physical. the nurse called back with the results and said my urine was clean, no infection no nothing and that i might have IC. i dont have all the symptoms of IC but i only get irritated when i drink soda, gatorade and slightly when i take showers. in december me and my fiancee switched our condom brand so do you think its possible i could be allergic? any thoughts of ideas?? thanks.

It could be a recurring UTI, or you could possibly have a kidney stone, I mistook my kidney stone for a really bad UTI and so did the doctors.

It could be a number of things. Bladder stones etc.

Try a different condom?

Always make sure to pee before and after sex. It clears out the urethra, so bacteria is less likely to stay in there.

Other than that, I would go back to the doctors, tell them everything that you have written here, and get an opinion.
