Strange symptoms....advices please?

Hi I would like to know what's happening to me because of some strange symptoms: mild headaches around the neck, occasionally burning eyes, lower back pain, and weakness in the right leg. Please read through this as i try my best to explain them:

Headache: not severe, but annoying, like tensions and strains around the back of my neck. There are pulsations, worst after exercising.

Lower back pain & right leg pain: I work out often, especially running. I have never had a problem before, but a while ago I begin noticed my right leg experience pain and slower recovery rate than my left leg. And now, it sort of go numb all day long, and the pain depends on posture (no problem lift weights, so I doubt it's muscle?).

Burning eyes: sometimes they come with mild headache, some times not.

I went to my nurse, she said that it's probably bad luck having flu and injury at the same time, gave me some Ibuprofenes...but hasn't been working.

Then I start reading scary stuff online...like cancer???

Well, before choosing cancer I would opt for something simpler, something non-fatal.

If your physician can not provide you with a good diagnosis then there is perhaps serious trouble. Since you only saw a nurse I think that there is still a lot of room for hope.

All of the symptoms could be nothing more than a slipped disc in your spinal column that is pinching a nerve.

Go back to the doctor, but see the doctor, not the nurse.

As always, do not let some "Yahoo," decide important stuff for you. Talk to the experts. While nurses can be competent and valuable medical health delivery persons they are NOT diagnosticians.

One word. DOCTOR. A nurse is not capable of diagnosing something like this. She should have referred you, even if she is a practioner. You could have a disk problem, sciatica, hamstring issues, or a stroke.

Headache seems to be tension headache. Pulsation/palpitation could also be due to same reason but still we need to rule out organic diseases. Best way is to go to a doctor. Cancer is very unlikely with such different symptoms of differnt body system. You said, your leg becomes numb, has pain and weakness. if all these 3 are true, may bee there is compression of nerve root which could be due intervertebral disc disease.

Simple. High blood pressure.

Unless you are under 25

For the exception of the burning eyes i would say you need a chiropractor. I have been lifting for years and never believed in them until i too had symptons like yours and when i went to a chiropractor it made all the difference in the world.. Especially the numbness. However you need to find one who specializes in Sports Injuries. Some are just "bone crackers". Last thing though is see your doctor to make sure. Dont just rely on what we tell you on here.. Good luck
