I am 10 and a half weeks pregnant and my body feels like its burning up. I do not have a fever. I haven't been


able to sleep in two nights cause I am just so hot. I had the ac cranked up and the fan and it still doesn't help. Its just not my face, its my entire body. I called the nurse but she hasn't returned my call yet. I'm also having heart flutters, though I think thats because I've been throwing up and may be dehydrated. Is there anything I can do to keep me from burning up like this??

Congrats on becoming pregnant! Sorry to say, but this seems very normal to me. Good luck because this is just the beginning. Later you'll be just as hot, but will have a big belly and will feel a lot less mobile, especially when in the summer weather. All your symptoms seem like typical pregnancies. Get lots of rest, don't over-do yourself and drink PLENTY of water. It will keep you cooler and will keep you healthy and hydrated.

It is probably hormonal but make a Dr appointment just to be sure. With the early stages of pregnancy, hormones are bouncing up and down. Be sure to drink lots of water to prevent dehydration. The next 2 trimesters should be a lot easier but make sure you do not have any underlying medical conditions.

talk to the child and tell it to cool it's temper or you'll throw some cold water down the hatch.

If you're not running a fever, then it's likely just the pregnancy. Your body is working very hard to make the baby, not to mention the main cause of feeling hot during pregnancy: Increased blood flow. This increasing blood flow (you're at the stage where your body is starting to increase the amount of blood in your system), is also what cause heart palpitations for many women. I had heart flutters or palpitations from time to time with my second and third pregnancies. With the increasing temperatures (weather wise), it certainly doesn't help either. I was mostly pregnant during the fall and winter, and slept either nude or nearly nude, as I could not tolerate extra clothing at night.

Drink plenty of fluids! Its important to stay hydrated, and to check to see if your are dehyrdated, pinch the skin on the back of your hand. The skin should bounce back quickly if you are taking in enough fluids. If not, the skin will stay indented a bit.
You also should know that when pregannt, your body produces 45% more blood, thereby making your body heat up. It was the only time I remember I felt WARM in the wintertime. lol
