Disability? |
I have read alot of your answers on the subject & I am in the process of applying for SSI disability and all the paperwork you have to complete is unbelievable. I retired and was approved disability. I was an acute renal failure & lucky enough not to need diaylsis. I also have spinal stenious, a drop left foot which I have to wear a brace, I have bad knees and receive injections in my drop foot and both knees. I'm not asking for medical benefits just an income. My husband who was retired went back to work full time to pay the bills and his health is not all that great. What is wrong with America? We are not trying to scam the government? If I could work I would work. I can't stand very long, I can't walk very far..When I was in the hospital my veins in my left arm were burnt with potassium due to a nurse's error so my arm is weak. Yes, I have been to P.T. for everything. So why is it so hard and difficult to receive something we have paid in for all our lives? It has been my experience that the unwritten rules call for rejection of claims at least once or twice. I believe the government figures those who may be attempting fraud or in the gray area would fade away. What assisted me when I needed to be on disability for a time was getting a social worker who knew the ropes. Try your state government's website for a contact #. Good Luck. Sadly enough, only God can tell you why you aren't treated as fast. So unless you have a scheduled trip to go see the big guy soon, i'm sad to say life just isn't always fair. disability after working all your life is scrutinized to the max. if you had never worked it seems to be easier to get approved. keep fighting for what you deserve. |
