I have burnt my lower leg and had it dressed by a nurse?

how do i have a shower without wetting the bandage?
I only have a shower and no bath - i thought of wrapping clingfilm round the bandage; does anyone have any suggestions ?

a plastic bag would be better and tie it as tight as possible,but not too tight coz your leg will fall off lol

Plastic bag, worked for me when i broke my leg!

Plastic foil, it wraps around neatly

Put in in a black bag and secure the top with an elastic band..........that will do the trick..........

i would have a body wash instead, just by standing in front of the sink with a flannel and some soap.....

You could wrap it in more guaze... and actually, as long as it doesn't get soaked, you should be okay. Just kep it out from under the direct spray.

A plastic bag might be an option but I would recommend double checking with the nurse or your dr to see what they say about how to handle this situation.

put your leg into a garbage bag. above the burn, wrap a washcloth around the leg, pull the plastic bag up and pull a big rubber band or wrap some tape around the bag on top of the cloth. then above the cloth, wrap some more tape or put a rubber band.

Plastic bag or bin liner!! Also putting your leg on the side as you shower will help. My mum is having an op on her foot soon and will have to do this for 2 months!!

i had sorta the same problem when i burnt my hand to the bone, i found one of them vinyl medical gloves with a rubber band was good.

for your leg, i suggest a black bag with again rubber bands (not too tight) round each end or simply soap and flannel "bed bath" type wash till ur bandage comes off.

Clingfilm works great with a rubber band holding it in place

a black plastic bag or cling film will do but you can also buy a proper leg protector from any good chemist

I'd probably b best 2 stand in front of the sink and wash up that way.

wrap it with a plastic or black bag...secure it tight enough it wont get loose but not too tight might get cramps...

So, when the nurse was dressing this wound, what did the NURSE tell you? If she didn't tell you anything, then call back and ask. Sometimes it's actually good to wash a wound. Sometimes it's not.

I'd ask the nurse.
