Medical Question?

I have a question. I burnt myself at work the other day and I work at a Nursing Home so their is nurses their and she rubbed something on my hand that made it stop burning. I was wandering if someone could tell me what this is called and If I can buy it from like rite aides or something. Its like a white paste that almost smells like elmers glue. Buts it not burn cream it has a medical name.

it was silvadene cream but you need an Rx for it. You can ask the nurse if you can have some more.

Its most like a topical anaesthesia like EMLA.

I'm not sure what exactly what you are looking for, but a simple aid for burns is Aloe, which can either be bought in a bottle or found in the leaves of an aloe plant. It's what I use for burns.

i'd use savlon, blue tube

It was Silvadene Cream. I'm in the medical field, and that's exactly what we use. Try and get some from work, just put some in a sterile cup that has a lid so it doesn't get dry.

I bet its called silvadine. the stuff works great doesn't it? It is very expensive and Im not positive, but I think you need a prescription. Good Luck
