Would you take a manager job for 4 days per week, holidays/weekends off?

with only 2 weeks vacation OR work every other weekend, holidays, afternoon/midnights? Money would probably be the same. Position would be manager vs floor nurse. Frankly, am burned out of health care but at my age it's too late to change. Would like to be retired in 3 - 5 years. Also, management job would be 45 min commute one way versus 30 minute commute. Serious answers only please!!!

If you are really burned out at healthcare then you should consider other options. Could you consider case/care management or something else that does not involve patient care? Anyhow, on to you your question...If you are only working 3 days a week, then two weeks vacation seems sufficient. Working every other weekend, holidays and 2nd/3rd shift seems more difficult to me and might contribute more to your feeling of burnout.

The commute does not seem that big a difference to me, but I have an hour commute. Overall, I would seriously consider the manager position just because of the better schedule. Not an easy decision, good luck.

It sounds Great but it's your job so you gotta decide this one I'd go 4 it.Good Luck

I'd do it.....only two weeks vacation, but with 3 days a week off......Oh Yeah!!

Which ever job you think you would enjoy better
