Anyone else in healthcare who is burned out? Been a nurse for 25 years plus. Nurses, docs, pharmacists,? |
nurse assistants, etc. Am I the only one? I try not to be but a sense of doom looms over me when I have to go to work. Can't think of anything else to do but be a greeter at WalMart, but I don't think the pay is there for me. I wasn't a 'healthcare' worker, but I was a 'mental health care' worker and I definitely 'burned out' and retired 'early' at the age of 40. I am still a 'psychologist' but I don't 'work' for pay any more ... and if you can stand the 'downgrade' you'll take in pay, then you should go be a 'greeter' at WalMart ... because you'll be a 'really good one' and you may actually 'help' more people because you are also a 'nurse.' One of my 'favorite' jobs was as a 'waitress' after I had been a psychologist ... and people must have thought I was a 'good waitress' because most of them wanted to be seated on 'my side' of the restaurant. no but I'm seriously reconsidering starting my nursing diploma after reading the Nursing times this morning I'm more enthused about being a Pharmacist now then I was 18 years ago when I started. Time for a new job for you. |

First time reading this, and loved it! Brilliant as usual! 10/10! ...That is brilliant, one big star for you!! ...I sometimes feel like I have enough skin on the tummy area to give away I could cover a whole burn patient. And they can have it anytime. ...OMG! That is hilarious. Sorry I have to go tell my hubby that joke right now! ...I think there are probably 2 things that could be causing it. 1.) yeast - it can causing a burning pain, watch for other symptoms like deep shooting pain, itching, or dry scaly skin around the nip... 1. "She Devil" 2. Maybe you're misremembering "Dolores Claiborne"? ...Sounds like hormones. ...If you are really burned out at healthcare then you should consider other options. Could you consider case/care management or something else that does not involve patient care? Anyhow, on to you... |
