Allergic reaction - or What? HELP I hurt, burn & itch! Can't sleep! Need a NURSE!?

I have bumps all over.
The DR says they are flea bites, but ER says they are allergic reaction to something else.
They itch, burn, and hurt.
They are the size of a pea, but the redness & inflamation is about the size of a dime, with the actial site centered in that.
I've tried aloe, oatmeal [burns me], lidocane, lanocane, steroid pills, triamcinolone acetonide cream USP 0.1%, and other stuff.
Can you PLEASE help me STOP itching, burning & hurting till I can get into the DR tomorrow?
I can't SLEEP! My navel has it in it now, and NOTHING helps. I am being literally TORTURED by this as I type.
MAN O MAN!

try a soda bath, run your bath water and put some soda in it. It may burn a lot but I thin that this will help. If you have some cream that was for itching maybe this would help. I feel so sorry for you I have allergic reactions all the time. I really have to watch watch I do.

Thank-you for choosing my answer. I hope you feel better. Report It

If you're having an allergic reaction, you should not take a HOT shower or bath. Heat causes histamines to be released, which can greatly aggravate an allergic reaction.
I'm thinking your problem wasn't an allergy, This comment is for people who may break out in an allergic rash. Report It

I would head back to the ER. It actually sounds like measles, which can be very serious and life threatening in an adult. Did any of the medical folks tell you to try Benedryl to help stop the itch?

assuming that it is an allergic reaction, try an oral antihistamine like benadry... it should help with the itching and help you sleep.
It takes about 30 minutes to work but should help you with your symptoms until you see a doctor.
hope you feel better

My mum always taught me to press an X into the bite with your fingernail, if it is a bite, it will draw the poison out. Otherwise try calamine lotion.

I would take some benadryl.

try a cool shower or bath...It really depends on what the cause is...

I would try Ice! I may not be good for wat ever you have but you wont feel it if you let the ice sit on it ! I do it when i don't know wat it is and i don't want to go to the DR.

oral antihistamine for now. benadryl would be best, but you can take a claritin if thats all you have.

if you get short of breath, or have troubles breathing go right back to the ER. do you have any other symptoms, like fever, sore throat or dark urine?

You mentioned Steroid Pills. Was the rash previous to this? Steroids can cause rashes that sound similar to what you are experiencing. My husband was on steroids for a car accident and the same thing happened. NOTHING helped, so finally we got to a DERMATOLOGIST not a regular doc who specialized in skin. It was from the prednisone ( steroid ) He had to take an antibiotic for 2 months and use a special wash. Good luck.

If it happened previous to the steroids here are a few over the counter relievers!
- Calomine lotion
- TEA tree oil
- STOP itching no matter how bad
- Benedryl either pill or cream ( beware pill makes you sleepy)
- Wear loose cotton clothing, cool room

Good luck, feel better!

The question is - is your house infested with fleas? Do you work with animals, chemicals?

To me, this sounds like staff or a pox....you need to take antibiotics of some type...there is no denying that...but to stop the itching...benadryl...it will dry you out, so drink alot (not liquor)...then use cortizone plus - it has aloe - it will cool and has a cortisone that is better than all of the other types on the market - 7.42 at walmart for a 2 oz tube...you don't need a lot, light coat ... and before you put it on take a cold shower to deaden the pins n needles...and a hot bath or shower to open the pores...then dry off quickly...and apply the salve.

Now, whatever you have worn, whatever you have slept on, whatever you have sat on, touched...spray your entire environment down with lysol disinfectant spray, pick up a tube of antibiotic (triple) ointment to put on the individual spots if the cortisone works...wash your clothes and bedware thoroughly in hot water...amd for christ's sake if your place is infested with fleas get out of it and get a flea bomb/fog and release it in your house, vacuum and repeat if the problem continues (make sure you are not in it).

I have eczema so I empathize with you, because I have had to fight itch my whole life...good luck - and, if it is an infection you should be prescribed antibiotics...if it is an allergic reaction, you will be supplied a cortisone or benadryl...and if it is flea bites and it is that sever you may need a detoxification.

Hope you can sleep in peace soon...don't rule out a cold syrup that causes drowsiness, they usually have antihistamines like benadryl, but are a little more groovy in the fall asleep quick factor. If you are less than two hundred pounds don't drink over half a bottle in an evening.
