What do you think of the sexual assault/rape scene in the 2006 version of "The Hills Have Eyes" (esp. moms)?

I recently watched "The Hills Have Eyes," and I have always been a scary movie fan. I'm also a believer in "if you don't like it, change the channel," but I watched this movie totally unprepared for what I saw. I think the whole movie was crap, but I was specifically bothered by the rape/assault scene in the camper on the two sisters. First of all, I have no idea what was supposed to be accomplished by the teen girl being raped, except to shock. The worst, though, to me, was when the nasty little guy sniffed the older sister/nursing mom's breasts, then started to nurse off of her, just before shooting her in the head. I was nursing at the time I saw this, and this scene bothered me beyond belief. For weeks I couldn't nurse my baby without thinking about that awful movie. Again, it served no purpose except to shock. They took something that's supposed beautiful and ruined it. I had to literally cringe every time I nursed my son, thinking of that scene. Do you think I'm silly?

That movie was sick and I don't mean it in the good way.
Of course horror movies are all sick but some of those movies just go way too much out there.
Sometimes I think all it does is make us normal people sick and the psychos excited.
And also make the psychos in training become even more psychotic. I dunno. I'm not saying they should have censorship, but don't you think there should be a difference between "R-Rated" films like Old School and "R-Rated" films like The Hills Have Eyes.
I know that's what the movie categories are for but still.....hearing a curse word every 4 seconds is a lot less traumatic than watching someone's head get eaten by a bunch of cockroaches.

No i agree with you 100%. I to am a scary movie fan but this movie and especially that scene was not right. I am not a mom but i have to agree with you. I HATE THAT MOVIE... i will never and have not recommended it to anyone.

No I don't think you're silly. I never saw the movie but I cringed just reading your description of the scene's. I think I'll definitely pass this movie up. Thanks for the warning.

No I think that would disturb anyone.
And I agree, i think it麓s for shock factor.
There麓s enough awful things in the world to put something like that in ENTERTAINMENT.

Its a movie. It was made that way to make you cringe just like you did. They succeeded.
You cant expect movies to be non graphic. I personally liked this movie.
And if you think only this movie has these types of graphic scenes, think again.

most people dont realize that this is a remake and that whole scene was in the orginal and its on the unrated dvd only (i think because thats all ive seen) however that was actually shown in the theaters when it came out in the late 70's or early 80's and for some gawd aweful reason they are making another one
