i might start my period when i go to camp but im imbarrased to bring pads or go to the nurses to get them. please tell me what i should do. plus my niece is going with me to camp and i usually ask her to get stuff out of my bag and she looks thru it alot. im only 12 but im worried. what should i do? please help me

get a cute little decorative bag and put them in there, or get one with two zipper pulls and use a little lock and key so she wont get in

you'll just have to deal with it, sorry. and just tell your neice what they are so there are no questions.

ok. first ask around like your trying to gossip to see who has started their period. then find the people that have and get to know one of them. when you feel comfortable with them, ask them for pads and advice on how to handle it.

ask you mom if you can take tampons put them in a makeup bag in a seceret compartment in you luggage

Aww, don't worry about it. It's a fact of life for women. Just take your pads/tampons in an end pocket of your camp bag. Don't be ashamed or embarrassed of them, if somebody takes them out just remember that it's something all women are going to go through. Sure if there are guys around they'll find it funny, but that just shows their immaturity. Don't worry about it, it's just a pad (or tampon), it's proof that you are maturing into a beautiful young woman. Have fun at camp!! :-)

use tampons. it's harder to tell what they are exactly if you don't already know. You can also hide them in your bag.

Don't worry yourself about it. All women have their period, and that just how it is. Be proud of it, let her look in the bag. maybe grab some of your mom's pad, and if she doesn't have any just tell her that you need some for camp. I'm sure she will be more than happy to help you out.

No choice, honey. You've got to come prepared. And that means bringing pads or figuring out how to use tampons (not an easy task). Bring them with you, the thinnest is the least likely to show under your clothes. Bring thin maxi for heavy days and pantiliners for light days. And let's just hope it doesn't happen during camp.

First of all, a period and maxi pads are nothing to be ashamed of!!! Every single female on the planet has a period. It is a sign of maturity. If somebody laughs about it, just remind them how much of a child they still are. However, if you don't think that will work, buy a pack of the ultra-thin, ultra-absorbent pads. They are in tiny packages. These should be small enough to hide. Also, put them someplace that is private---like under the bed or in your suitcase, cover them with clothes. Only keep a few with you at all times in case of an emergency. Hope this helps.

Please don't be embarrassed these are just natural things that happen. You can explain to your niece that it is not polite to go through your belonging and if she does see your pads, just tell her they are you personal belongings and leave it at that. Have fun at camp!

Honey, you're going to have to bring pads and/or get them from the nurse. You can't just bleed all over yourself. Get yourself some sort of bag, maybe a pretty cosmetics bag, put some pads in it and pack it with your stuff.

If someone sees them or sees you go to the nurse, so what? Your body does what it does, every post-puberty girl and woman's body does it; it's natural.

How old is your niece? Does she not know what periods are? Maybe you could ask her mom -- or yours -- what you should say if she asks. Or you can just tell her they're something older girls use sometimes and change the subject.

Try thinking about it like this: Grown up women aren't normally embarrassed of the fact that they get periods; they're just a bodily function that every woman has for a while. If you think you'll probably have a period at camp, just bring pads and be really matter of fact about it and shrug it off if your neice bugs you about it. Little kids think poo is funny too, but that's no reason to pretend we don't use toilet paper.

If you don't think you're likely to have a period at camp, I guess you could leave the pads behind. If you turn out to be wrong and have to ask the nurse for pads, at least you can be sure she won't give you a hard time about it or try to embarrass you. After all, she's a grownup and she has periods too and she's old enough that it's really not a big deal to her anymore.

I'm 12 to and i think that there is no reason what-so-ever 2 be embarrassed to bring pads. Its a totally normal thing. Whats embarrassing is goin to the movies with ur boyfriend and having 2 leave because u got a surprise in the bathroom. Theres nothing to worry about just bring ur pads. Its much easier. Hope this helps!
