Daughter preg, highrisk, need houston medicaid, tried, but put off,now having cardiac problem, need medica asap?

daughter having problems obtaining medicaid/houston,given foodstamps at office.was supposed to rcv card asap, but dragging their feet.she is going into her 4th month, found out she was pregnant in 2nd month did'nt know she was pregnant due to irregularites.she has since started having cardiac problems and needs serious med attention.she has been seeing a nurse practitioner just to get some sort of care until medicaid does what they should've.she has been seen in the emergency room twice in two weeks with a heart rate of 130-140 with shortness of breath.this is really ridiculous.my child and her first baby are at risk and my daughter needs to be connected with someone who can get her immediate attention.she needs medicaid to see an ob and cardiologist before something really bad happens.if anyone has info please respond asap.thanks sincerely.

I would appeal any decisions of denied medicaid...someone has to take care of her....if not, I would go to some type of state supported hospital...or go to the planned parenthood/health department....so that she is seen, diagnosed, and referred to an obgyn and cardiac specialist!

She can still go to the doc of she hasn't gotten the card yet. she just needs to let them know that she's on medicaid but has not received the card. I was going to wait for the card as well until i told the doc i was pregnant and he said i can be seen before.

The hospital should have a office where you can talk to them about Insurance/medicaid. They should even have a system to look up her status. I would ask to talk to the business office or the social worker at the hospital, it is their job to help you out with this. Do not let them put you aside any longer. Good luck.

Call her social worker, if you dont know the name call the office & they can tell you. Tell them she is in desperate need of immediate mediacal attention & insurace. Usually they can get you through the system & a insurance # in a day or so

I'm sorry for your misfortune I hope things will turn around for you. In your situation I think I would go to your local health department and speak to your public health nurse she will know how to best help your daughter. My prayers will be with you.
