Does anyone think that Hilary Clinton's plan for socialized health care can work? At what cost?

What would the cost of the healthcare be? What kind of quality are we expecting and would it be a disincentive for becoming a doctor?

ANY socialized health care plan is doomed to mediocrity and terrible shortages. It would cost an arm and a leg, the quality would be equivalent to volunteers in 3rd world countries, and the brightest and most hopeful students would most likely study law instead...there'd be more money in it without the legal obligation to perform.

she has laid out a plan of some sort? no way! she would have had to directly address the issue, or give a detailed, honest answer to a question, which she has never done.

Why would I believe that she is even going to do anything with health care???? Has everyone forgotten that she said that when her hubby was running??? it was going to be HER project to get ALL Americans health care...she had EIGHT years and didn't get it done....someone anyone tell me WHY anyone should vote for her on that ground????

the cost will be putting more profit into big companies and further destroying the middle class...doctors are crying, hospitals are crying, insurance companies are crying and drug companies are crying we dont make any money...what they really mean is we cant fleece the average guy fast enough...so here is the question..who exactly is making all the money in health care?

No, I don't believe it will work in the USA. I don't believe it would satisfy those that have insurance coverage. Those that don't would expect far more than they will get.
Canada has a form of socialized medicine. I understant a person must wait in line for treatment, schedule appointments months in advance and priority operations are allegedly based on age. The older you get the less your chances are for life saving type operations.

Of course it will not work. look at Europe and Canada (both have national health care systems) although yes you could go to the hospital for free- you have to make exhaustive appointments (6-9 months in advance) and the quality of treatment will not be as good. (which person will invest so much time and effort to become a doctor is they will not get compensated for it?)

national heath care should only be for people to work and have worked in the past. (People to don't pay for taxes or illegal immigrates should not have these benefits!)

HAHAHA the real joke is that people believe it will work.
It will work about as well as Social Security, we can't even keep track of all the illeagal immigarants here, much less the health needs of EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN THE COUNTRY it's laughable. I only laugh because it keeps me from screaming.
Let's raise taxes some more so we can keep all the people who are probably here illeagly anyway.
The quality of health care will go way down, because those doctors who are a part of the socialized system won't get paid. Medicare/Medicade already doesn't pay so lets just add to that system... yeah, that will make it better.

Yes, it could; however, the catch is how much are you willing to pay? The idea of "free health care" is a foolish as "free retirement plan" that is social security. John Kerry's comprehensive plan was estimated to possibly cost as much as 2.2 trillion A YEAR. That鈥檚 roughly doubling the budget every single year. I do not care which way you cut it, that's going to hurt somebody. Even with something less ambitious, (see Tennessee's Tenncare system) it would still invariably drain government funding forcing politicians to do two things that they hate to do: raise taxes, cut funding. Both of those options are suicide to them and not viable. True, one party will simply tell you that they will 鈥渢ax the rich" into oblivion, but really, who pays the taxes when the rich is taxed? I will give you a hint: it ain't the rich. Just look at the tax rates of other countries that have "free health care" it's a revelation.
