Do you run a home day care in Ontario? Advice needed re: liability insurance?

My wife is planning to start a home day care business, and would liek to obtain liability insurance. When I called in my current insurance company they said they can't insure out home anymore as this would be deemed as "high risk". We have to either get separate liability insurance and present proof to them, or go with acompany that can cover both our home & liability insurance.
If you have a home day care, could you please advise on where to start looking for this type of insurance? I have contacted a few big name companies, and they don't offer it.

I don't know who does this in Canada, but I can tell you you'll have better luck with a smaller, regional insurance company than a large one.

But the real thing to do here, is see if there's a professional organization near you - daycare resources, etc, where you can talk to other daycare providers, and find out who does THEIR homeowners insurance.

There ARE some carriers that, for a small fee, will let you do a daycare in your home, on a homeowners policy.
