If close-minded conservatives don't think Dennis Kucinich would be capable of making health care free as presi |
I was not able to see the debate tonight because I am unable to get MSNBC at my college, but I recall from a previous debate that Dennis Kucinich had aspired to mandate health insurance by making it free if elected president. In a previous question, someone, probably a close-minded conservative, stated that it would too expensive to make health care free and would involve raising taxes as was done in Canada. And granted this might sound crazy, or even impossible, but I am almost certain I recall Kucinich talking about a plan he had to make heath care free while still keeping taxes low. I am just not sure...did anyone hear him talking about it on tonight's debate? Someone else mentioned that doctors would not be able to get paid if health care was free. But the fact is that if Kucinich plans on making health care free then apparently he must also have a plan to compensate health care providers accordingly, i.e. via the government. I don't want to sound naive because I did not see the debate tonight, but I just think a lot of people are being overly critical of Kucinich and the promises he has made. From what I have seen he is one of the first candidates, with the possible exception of John Edwards, who has been able to execute a concrete plan for how he intends to do the things he has promised to do, and unlike Bush and other candidates, will tell you exactly what he plans on doing and how he plans on doing it. dennis would need a few phone books to stand on to be heard Dood, there is no way in heck that someone can promise a government program as large and comprehensive as this and claim that it will be, A) affordable, and B) even WORK! You serious you actually think it would be free, the only people who would get it free would be thoughs that don't work, the rest will pay through the nose, just like it is now, Oh and of course illegal immigrants will get it free. Kucinich said on the debate tonight that he would stop the health care industry from being "for profit." I'm sorry, but as cold as it sounds, "for profit" is the reason people invent new things, improve them, and give consumers the chance to enjoy them. |
