Would Bush supporters care to comment on plans to slash counter-terror funds?

Yahoo has this AP story up:

"Emergency responders face deep aid cuts"

It reports that: "The department [of Homeland Security] wanted to provide $3.2 billion to help states and cities protect against terrorist attacks in 2009, but the White House said it would ask Congress for less than half 鈥?$1.4 billion, according to a Nov. 26 document. The plan calls outright elimination of programs for port security, transit security, and local emergency management operations in the next budget year."

So I guess we've won the war on terror already. Let's celebrate with less security . . . .

Personally I think it is funny as sh*t that now that the Bush Admin is preparing to leave office they are now cutting funding to the Counter terrorism budget. All this time they have been scaring everyone to death with all the potential terrorist attacks but suddenly they are going to just stop funding. That is very interesting. I guess they got all the money they wanted from tax payers and have turned the nation inside out and they will all leave the country now that they are done with us. Maybe they will retire to Dubai.

Nah, I don't care to comment, this Bush supporter just wants to go home and start drinkin. But thanks for asking for my comment.

Uh, so you complain that he spends too much, now you complain because he doesnt want to spend more, make up your damn mind

If you read the article it stated that they have already ramped up and have what they need. Start up costs are always higher in the beginning.

sorry...i dont support that guy.....he sucks and there isnt much good he's done in office...can someone say recession...my company announce yesterday another 1300 people will be laid off from ferguson enterprises besides the 1500 already gone...I have friends that are good people who will be told next week!!

no i don't believe in less security when we are in war with Arab country and when the Chinese getting ready for a war with either Taiwan or U.S.

That way when the next false-flag terror episode occurs, there won't be enough first-responders to handle it. Then the crisis is worsened, and more limits on the Bill of Rights can be rammed down our throat.

:-(

There's a f---ing surprise!

Yeah, with all those thousands of terrorists that are just standing outside our borders all waiting to sneak in!!!!

Oh, wait now. The "terrorist threat" has, for the most part, been a sham to put fear into the American people so they would gladly support this "war on terror".
I'm sure, though, that many private contractors are pretty upset that they won't get to stuff their pockets with as much money as they wanted with the bill being reduced from $3.2 billion to $1.4 billion.
The founder of Blackwater is probably drying his sniffles over this by using $1,000 dollar bills to wipe his nose, because, after all, he made $20 million last year alone off of the Iraq war while the head of Halliburton has made $100 million since the war started.
That would be nice to see that money instead going to supply our troops, since they have had to go without flak jackets, sleep on the ground, insufficiant armor for their vehicles, etc, etc...
But wait a minute...those same contractors and corporations that are scooping up all these hundreds of billions of dollars that have been spent on the Iraq war are entitled to this money, instead of having it go to our troops! After all, it was them that financed Bush's campaign.
Without their push to get Bush in the Oval office and deceive the American people to believe in this war, there wouldn't be a war and us taxpayers spending hundreds of billions of dollars going to these contractors, er...I mean, this war in the first place!!
Its no big deal, though, since they probably won't take so much of a percentage of the defense budget once they start seeing profits from their proposal to tap into Iraq's oil for the next 30 years. Well, its actually 10 years, with a stipulation that lets them negotiate for another 20 after that, but thats a small detail.

But, yeah!!! We need to protect ourselves from all those terrorists that keep attacking us all over this country of ours every day!! This is a legitimate fear!!! Be afraid, be VERY afraid!!!

(OK, so they haven't attacked again yet. That just proves that maybe there isn't thousands of terrorists out there lurking around our borders....I MEAN, its a sign of Bush's great work!!!)
