The only way anyone can give you the correct answer is to know the species of the tree. Hundreds of species are used for bonsai, and there are almost as many ways to take care of them. www.american-bonsai.com Also, it will be important to know where you live in case it is an outdoor tree. Don't go by what the seller told you, it may be an outdoor tree and you were told it could be kept indoors. Sadly this happens much too often.

care it as you care for any other plant.provide regular water, provide it with manures and fertilizers and nurture it properly till it grows to it's best

Gently. Your local college or florist may offer a class in Bonsai trimming and cultivating. You can also go to the library, there are books on Bonsai.
