How do you plan on taking care of your parents? |
鈥淵our Lord has decreed that you should worship none but Him, and show kindness to your parents...鈥?(17:23) "Allah has ordered us not only to pray for our parents, but to treat them with ultimate compassion, remembering that when we were helpless children they preferred us to themselves. beautiful question...since, i've no brothers, i'm not sure my parents will have a permanant residence in any of us children's houses (it's their wish and convenioence..if we moved out of the country, etc._)..Insha Allah, i plan to take care of them, if not better, at least as good as they took pains to raise four girls(especially when one of them is someone like me,lol)..I don't want to send them off to any old-age home, if i can avoid it, neither do i want to separate them at any cost, sending them off to different houses (that would be too cruel), Allah willing. Their health is already deteriorating, and i'd like to personally take care of that, one of my inspirations to pursue the medical field..i'd love to keep them happy and healthy spiritually, emotionally and physically, as long as we are together..i'd also pray for them (even now, i do..), and i'd like to keep this one promise of looking after them..ameen I am taking care of my mother. As salaamu 'alaikym warahmatullahi wabaraktuh, my sister and my friend. they have been taken care of already both sent to the incenerator My folks are in their late 70's right now and they are full of life. When it comes down to the time that they are not being able to take care of themselves, they opened up an insurance policy just for nursing homes. My parents are in their early 40's LOL. Hmm, but when then become old I would definately look after them myself (with my brother and sisters). Never ever would I even think about sending them to an old peoples home... I plan on taking care of them like they took care of me Inshallah. It's our duty as Muslims. My step father is 12 years younger than my mother so I hope he will be able to care for her. If not then she will live with me and my sister will help me take care of her. I worked in many nursing homes as a nurse aide when I was in my 20'sand I would never put her in one of them. They just don't hire enough staff to take good care of the patients. When I was in my 30's I worked at some as a Social Services Director and there were too many times I saw patients being somewhat neglected. If I needed to I would hire home health care to come into my home and help me, but no way is she going into a nursing home. The 'and' equalizing instead of a secondary ranking 'then' shows that Allah has given taking care of parents the same priority as worshiping him. This is the only equal in Islam to Allahs' worship. assalamualaykum warahmatullahi wa barakatahu I try to do that now by helping her take care of my sisters i buy them clothes and food when she can't afford them I try my best to help her as much as I can. My Mom died when I was 4 She died of Spinal menenghitis,She left 6 children behind for my Father to care for.....According to my grandmother we were a content "FAMILY"until she died! Assalamu alaikum, my parents are old and still working I'm 16 and they don't want me to do a job so i do everything around the house for my parents like cooking cleaning taking care of my baby sisters and stuff i hope I'm doing my best and making Allah proud :o) it is not a plan but my obligation and my love for them cause they were alwayz there when i needed them and i will INSHALLAH be there till MY LAST BREATH!! God then parents. That is what Quraan saying.I'm far away from my parents, but I'm trying to be in contact with them and I'm asking my brothers to take care of them, we normally live together or near to each other and we don't let our parents alone. uhh old folks home(duh) My mum will probably outlast me, since she'll have worn me out and ground me down. They say creaking doors creak forever, so I'm pretty sure she'll swing on to another of my siblings. I told my mother that I was going to find a nursing home that beat the people in it. Now she has a sign up in her kitchen that says: Be kind to your children, they pick your nursing home. Shoving them off on an iceberg or putting them in one of those nursing homes like they have on 60 Minutes. |
