Anyone know how to take care of a fuschia plan?

i just bought my first fuschia and when i got home, realized that the little plastic stick with the care instructions on it is gone. i can't remember what it said as i've bought so many plants already this spring. how often should i water it, and does it need full sun?

No Fuchsia plants do not like full sun. They do better in a shady area. They like to be keep on the moist side, do not let them dry out. Feed them every 4 to 6 weeks with miracle and always dead head the flowers after they die. Good luck they are a beautiful plant.

If you are doing it in a hanging basket don't let the soil dry out, they like moist but well drained soil, they do not like direct sun light....it shoudl bloom from now until fall, humming birds love them. Good Luck.. remember to water them daily if they are in a hanging basket.

Fuschia
Annual, Perennial

USDA Zones: hardy to Zone 9; grow as an annual in colder areas
Light: sun - partial shade
Height: 12 - 24 inches
Flower Colors: white, pink, violet, and red; many bi-colors
Bloom Time: summer

Special Features:
Attracts Hummingbirds
Containers
Flowers

The distinctive downward facing flowers of fuchsia make this trailing plant ideal for high-hanging baskets. The flowers, often bi-color, appear in shades of red, white, pink, and or purple. In the majority of the country, fuchsia is grown as an annual, and reaches about 2 feet tall; in warmer areas (Zones 9 and south) fuchia reveals itself as a tropical shrub.

Notable Varieties
'Cascade' is especially well-suited to hanging baskets. White and red flowers.
'Display' is hardier than most fuchsias. Produces purple and pink flowers.
'Dollar Princess' tolerates heat and offers double flowers in red and purple.
'Marinka' is best in hanging pots. Red flowers.

Care
Do not allow to dry out. Although fuchsia is a tropical plant, it does not like long periods of heat. Protect from harsh summer winds and hot southern sun.

Planting
Set out transplants in spring after danger of frost. Use potting soil (for containers) or well-drained soil for garden use.Fuchsias can be grown from seed, but they are slow to develop.
