What EXACTLY does my Apple Care Protection plan cover? |
I bought the plan when I bought my MacBook Pro. The plan seemed foolish to me (and expensive) but my dad insisted it was a good idea. Recently I went on the Apple website to review what the plan covers... and it looks like it is useless aside from problems out of the box (which means 3 more years of plan are wasted). I have not broken my computer, nor do I intend to. My point is, it seems unlikely that anything will fail in my computer after it is first used and within 3 years... A substantial number of hard drives fail within 3 years from ordinary use, as do optical drives. Since the warranty covers parts and labor for replacing both, its worth it. It will cover any warranty defects. HD, motherboard, screen, etc., going dead in three years. Nothing useless about that. Like for faults they send you a new MacBook, but those faults only are the company fault not like you spill water on it. Also if you exchange it you may ask for something worth the same value at the time, but it must be from Apple. |
