What do you think of Hilary Clintons health care plan idea?? Why?

Try and be opened minded politically, even if your like Im not voting for her. Thats fine, Im looking to better understand it without bias views please and thank you.

Keep in mind that unless you make over $250,000 a year, you won't be paying for it. Clinton's plan states that the funding will come from repealing special tax cuts for the rich.

On very basic terms, what Clinton's plan does is expand upon the insurance through work system that is currently in place. Many U.S. residents obtain health insurance through their jobs, this program would expand that significantly. Clinton's plan offers subsidies to small businesses. This means that basically small businesses who can't afford to pay for health care for all of their employees will receive government funding to help them do so. Businesses that can afford to offer health insurance must do so OR make a financial contribution to a fund that will pay for health insurance for those who don't have it.

I hope that helps. The plan is a little hard to wade through, but that is the most basic explanation I could come up with.

More specific details about the plan are scheduled to be released later today, so you may want to wait to make a decision about it until that happens.

Also, it may interest you that many of the Democratic candidates have proposed similar plans to this one. Obama and Edwards are making statements as I type about why their previously released plans are better than hers. I haven't read the text of all three of them so I can't say much about the other two.

SUCKS, just like the last time. It is very expensive and why should I have to pay for everyone's coverage. I already have to pay for myself!

Besides, the government will screw it up!

its stupid because its stupid.

I haven't had time to give it a good look so far, but if it doesn't include deregulation, tort reform, and giving individuals buying insurance the same tax treatment as companies, its not going to get my vote.

Any solution that gives the government more oversight and power is only going to cause rationing and stand in the way of medical innovations.

For all of the statistics downplaying America's health care system, why don't you consider whether you would rather be an average citizen with cancer in America, or in ANY of the Socialist nation. There is a reason that the survival rate of all types of cancer in America is head and shoulders above the Socialized world - Socialized medicine prevents the newest and most effective drugs from being accessible. Fact.

Universal health care would be a disaster. Here's why: For starters, the government has proven over and over again that the only thing they're good at is wasting taxpayer dollars. Our income taxes would double (possibly triple) and no one will be able to account for all that extra money going to the government. Secondly, it would become a bureaucratic nightmare. It's tough enough now with HMOs and PPOs to get authorization for certain medical procedures, but you can bet it'll get ten times worse if the government gets involved. Finally, whatever the government comes up with, once we get it we're stuck with it. Remember all the horror stories of the deplorable conditions at Walter Reed Medical Center? That's a very accurate picture of what government-run health care would be like in this country. Do you honestly think anyone on Capitol Hill is going to care once the program is in place? The bottom line is it's a heck of a lot more money for a heck of a lot lower standard of care. Hillary is basically saying that the average American is too stupid to handle health care for himself/herself (just like the American consumer is too stupid to decide for himself/herself whether he/she is going to eat anything made with trans fat) so our already too big government is going to become even bigger and more powerful. As a result, Americans will have less choices for health care and fewer civil liberties overall. BEWARE any time a politician proposes such a wide-sweeping plan for reform.

Simple, the first step of communism is to make the people dependent on governement. The second step is to control the schools. The third step is to control the press.

Liberalism is stage one of communism. Stage two is socialism, stage three is communism.

She said this will be mandatory. This is communism.

I've been without health insurance for 7 years. I'm self employed and I can't afford it. I also can't afford to go to the doctor. I live with pain every single day for a condition I couldn't afford to treat even if I were able to see a doctor . I can't afford to see a dentist and take every bite of food I eat with care or risk suffering terrible pain.

I've read over her health care plan thoroughly and this is not government controlled health care. Her plan is to keep the insurance companies from cherry picking who they cover and who they don't. She plans to deny them the right to refuse coverage for pre existing conditions. It overs you access to the same health coverage that congress receives as well as the ability to "opt in" to government provided health coverage if you can't afford anything else. She also plans on eliminating the huge amount of wasted health care costs that goes into administration. Did you know that if the documents submitted to your insurance provider are not "ridiculously perfect" they will deny payment and send them back. And I mean if something is stabled 1/3 of in inch off they consider it wrong and send it back. My neighbor payed for health coverage for 5 years and had to have a hernia operation. even though he was supposed to be covered for this his insurance company denied the claim so many times he had to hire a lawyer before they would pay for the cost of the surgery and once the claim was finally accepted he still had to pay for his legal fees. Something has got to be done to stop this. Insurance companies are only interested in lining there pockets and denying the American people of the coverage there paying for at the same time. This is the best plan I have seen so far out of everything I have seen come from the Presidential Candidates.

I've included a link the the outline of her health care plan.

It is a good idea but it is designed to fail.

No "universal" solutions can be sustained -- it is partly due to human nature. Just look at our social security system, medicare, socialism practices in Europe, and the universal care in Canada.

There should be incentives for people to get healthy. Beyond that, we can talk about universal health care.

The health care issue cannot be 'healed' with a everyone gets the same choice plan. Americans have poor dietary and physical habits.

If there is to be a plan it is one where individuals and companies are rewarded by advancing wellness and proper health management.

Only when those who have to foot the bill for the cost of their poor health will we see and demonstrative changes in the direction of care costs.

Having lived in England for many years, and seeing how bad the NHS is, I do NOT like her idea. If you want really bad health care, then follow her illusion. Otherwise, avoid this socialist agenda as much as possible.

To get the real story on how the NHS works, visit the link below (nhs-sucks.com). Hillary's plan is simply smoke and mirrors that will cost every American a lot more money than what they're currently paying.

I think Hillary is compromising with the health insurance companies--a hybrid of socialism and capitalism. I think that is great! It is a sad day in America when we do not want to help out our fellow Americans that cannot afford health insurance. Capitalism is just as dangerous, if not more dangerous less we forget Charles Dickens's books, than pure socialism. If we diverted the funding for Iraq and everything else, no, taxes would not go up; if they did, so be it. I would rather know that no matter what--if I loose my job or anything- that I will have insurance and not be footed with an outrageous bill.

Hilary AND Bill ran the white on Health Care reform from 1992 to 2000 and she was the "health care Czar" for this country. She did ZERO in 8 years, nothing , nada. She has since done nothing in the Senate , nothing! She retracts her position on votes she made when not the popular thing! She can't even run a household ,let alone a country.

I think it's the best one anyone's come up with yet.
