Socialist health care...When did the States authorize a National Socialist health care plan?

Further, is it the job of the federal gov't to provide health care? Where is it in the constitution?

Rather cleverly, the federal government makes it possible or desirable for the states to do things the federal government would like to do but cannot. For instance, the federal government cannot mandate the minimum age for consuming alcohol. However, some years ago, the federal government decided they would really like the minimum drinking age to be 21. What they did was to tell the states that funds for road-building would be drastically reduced for any state that did not have a minimum drinking age of at least 21. Naturally, the states wanted the money so the drinking age went up in all 50 states.

Likewise, existing welfare programs are joint federal-state initiatives. Unemployment Insurance is a state program. The federal government collects a small tax to fund administrative costs.

The federal government would have a hard time implementing nationalized health care all by itself under the Constitution. I suspect they will use the tried and tested method of working with the states to bring it about if a Democrat wins the White House.

Is it your employers job? Because that's most of who's footing the bill now. Why pay insurance companies to accomplish the same socialism, rather than free up people to start their own businesses without fear of losing healthcare?

Maybe Columbia University will invite Hitler to talk about it.

It came about when the Federal Government learned how to use extortion against the states by withholding federal funds until the states gave them what they wanted.
The Mafia has been a good tutor for the Fed.
