Honda Car Care Plan?

I bought Honda 2008 CRV in October and also bought a Car Care Service Plan. My paid about $750 for three year/every 3700 miles service plan. Is it a good deal?

So after 3700 miles, I can have a Lube, oil and filter change; after 7500 miles, I can have the above service plus Tire rotation; after 11000 miles, I have another lube, oil and filter change service; and eventually, after 15000 miles, I can have the above services again and a multi-point inspection.

The package also includes cross country motor club membership which provides services like towing, tire change. etc.

My concern is that I drive at low miles and my maintainace/service would charge me like 700 dollars in the next three years. Another concern is that I live in North Carolina but will move to New England area next summer. So I worry about whether I can carry this plan with to the Honda dealers there.

Should I need to cancel this service plan?

Your service plan is with Honda not the dealer. Its good at all
Honda dealers.
Regular service is what keeps any car in good running order
and having it serviced by a Honda dealer is a good idea. We
know what to look for,when to look for it and keep up with any
service bulletins pertaining to your vehicle.
If this sounds like a commercial its because I am a Honda Tech and I believe in their product,although I drive a Toyota with over 280,000 miles which I myself do perform regular service.
Your plan provides oil changes and tire rotations but there are other items that will need to be checked and changed
air filter,cabin or a/c filter,transmission fluid change,rear differential fluid when necessary at an additional charge
when necessary,depending on your driving habits and the area in which you drive. Here in Texas,Its sometimes recommended to replace cabin filter at least every 3 to 6 months depending on dust.
Canceling the plan would be up to you,but I still recommend regular service.Good Luck

These "care" plans are not a good deal. Also, extended warranties are not a good deal. Best cancel it if you can.

Figure out how much an oil change costs $25 - $30? Tire rotation does not cost that much either. If you are handy, you can even do them yourself.

i bought my 2004 Honda civic based on the fact it was the kind of car that required little to no maintenance. i changed by front brakes and tires this year both which aren't covered by a warranty anyway.i spent about $30 an oil change. plus when you buy these packages you fiance your oil changes and tire rotation for 3 to 5 years. my honda is still awesome these warranty packages are pure profit for the dealership.

I do expect to go to Honda dealer for my car service on a regular basis, for safety is my priority.

But my concern is that this plan is not economical, though it has towing etc extra service. Look. It keeps giving oil and filter change service. I can have such kind of service done at 20-30 dollars at the dealer. Also, I can only have a multi-point service after 12000 miles. I hope I can have it after like 6000 miles before I move to New England area.

How much does a tire rotation service usually cost?
How much does a multi-point service usually cost?
