What are your views of the role of the district nurse? |
What are your views of the role of the district nurse? my mums district nurse was great, she was the most valued and most welcomed person in my mums home. comunity based healthcare is vital. I cannot find sufficient words to praise them. My wife has suffered with leg ulcers for years but since the District Nurses have been calling regularly and giving natural treatment (use of Honey) it has completely healed up. This has been due to the special care shewn. Nerys Hughes made it her own ! Very important - my mum was one for years in Norfolk. They are vital to the well being of the community at large. On a practical note they tend to see and spot things that are wrong, when visiting people in their homes, that would otherwise remain hidden. How many of the elder generation like visiting the doctor's surgery, for what ever reason, normally because they have grown up in a society where it was thought unnecessary to trouble the doctor unless you were on the point of death. Slight exaggeration but you no doubt get my drift. |
