Are the elderly being taken care of? |
Elfadea, keep up the good work. Thank you. No they are not and I speak from personal experience having worked in my fair share of Nursing Homes in the past. The elderly are neglected, treated terribly sometimes with violence, not fed or given water if they refuse. As a staff nurse, my job was drug rounds and paper work, but when I was on each and every resident of the home I was working in at the time was treated with respect and dignity, its a shame not all nurses have the same empathy for the elderly as I do. We are all going to get old one day. As it is at the moment, I hope I die before I ever need to go in a home. NO; the elderly ain't taken care of. i have worked in a few nursing homes, some where really nice but others were hell hole's,the thing that mostly disgust me is that if a husband and wife need help with all their personal needs that they are put into different home's, unless they have loads of money, also the government don't give a dam about them even though they fought for their country Some are but others are poorly treated |
