What animal takes care of their elderly? |
Trying to find an animal that would be representative of taking care of their parents as they age. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks a lot!! most cases of animals taking care of there own are rare, Elephants and many apes show an extra effort to slow down and wait for old animals in some cases apes will share food with an older one, there was a case where lionesses were allowing an old one to eat and stay with the pride as long as she was able to keep up, and there is a few cases of blind lions being able to live because of the pride, in fact alot of animals that live in groups will share with disabled animals. But overall no animal goes as far as a human in caring for an elderly one, as most old animals become to slow to follow or can not chew there food and then die. If you are looking for an animal that would care for it's parents then look to apes, and research by Jane Goodall, but you'll find it'll mostly be the young who are given extra care when something causes them to became disabled, a dog and what do u mean parents like there real parents or like the owner elephants are loyal to all in their herd A cat is very loyal, but they do tend to want to be by themselves. But, a dog has to be walked and trained. If I wanted a faithful animal for an older couple, I think I would get a cat. They are a lot less work. do you mean animals that take care of people? well there are animals that help people. like dogs that help the elderly and disabled with task .service dogs there called if thats what you ment. elephants and crows elephants definetly- they care for any weak members in the group, including young, sick, and old. the bonds formed in an elephant 'community' are so strong they have even been known to return to the site of where a member died to touch their bones! ELEPHANTS!!!! And pack animals, such as wolves and other canines. There have also been isolated cases of big cats caring for their parents, but these are few and far between. Elephants?? |
