Pay for takimg care of elderly mother?

Pay for takimg care of elderly mother?

Hi,
I am a homecare social worker. You should check out in your state community medicaid for long term care. If she isn't eligible speak to an elder law attorney. Sometimes the local churches or sr. centers have low cost homecare resources.

If you are the only child you would have to find out from the executor of your mother's estate how a caregiver would be paid and how much. If you are a sibling, get this straight before you begin and get it in writing what the expectations are as well as the rate of pay.

hell yeha man take her cash while shes alive

yeah.......

who paid her for taking care of you?

My mother's dead so it's a moot point. If you're asking should YOU pay for taking care of her that would be up to you. If you're asking should you get paid for it, I would say no, she is your mother...she didn't get paid for taking care of YOU.

What is the question? Should you pay someone or how much should you pay? Should you get paid? Your question does not have a question.

I took care of my mother when she was ill and my pay was that I loved her and could help and take care of her in her final days. My sister did agree that I should be able to have a housekeeper and some money towards my utilities while she was living her and we straightened all that out after mom passed away. I don't know your situation and how long it will be so I can answer you.

Not sure what you are asking, but I took care of my mom for 12 yrs. till she died (last yr.) I moved her into my home, never asked her for a nickel to help with any bills, etc. My 2 sisters did very little to help me with her care even when she got real bad. We (mom and I) got into spats about things, but I have NO regrets now and can have a clear conscious that what I did was right. If it is about you can't take care of her, yes, you need to pay someone to help or look into a home or health aid to come into her home for so many hrs. a day. Contact local Area Agency on Aging for help.
