Suspected "Ghost" in elderly care facility, what would qualify it as a ghost??

My mother came home from working a noc-shift last night and is talking of what could be a ghost. there has been talk of it for a while but until now my mom had never witnessed it. it is in an elderly care facility. there is a specific room that the door keeps opening. now the person living in that room cant walk so thats out. but what is wierd is that my mom locked the door. she shook the door, the door wasnt loose. but of course it opened. and when she went to lock the door the door handle moved. now an old couple used to live in the room in which the husband was abusive and mean to the wife. ever since anyone who has lived in that room has either been seriously ill or died. ghost? help please, could this just be a wierd occurence? *ps. yes, im THIS bored*

A ghost is someone who doesn't know they are dead

Since ghosts do not exist, there must be a more logical explanation.

Other ideas would be telekinesis or deceiving spirits. I heard ghosts are really recordings. I also heard that the consciousness after apparent death is temporary and one has to be resurrected to live on. Either that or there is no resurrection, no afterlife, and no ghosts.

The Bible says once a man dies he does not return to his house. In other words, dead is dead.
