What are the duties and responsibilities of an emergency room nurse? |
What are the duties and responsibilities of an emergency room nurse? You would think it would be to see to the patients emergency. But from Ive seen its to sit and joke with the other nurses, interns, and staff. But what Ive learned while in class it is to triage the patient to see where there needs stand and to make sure they are treated as such. Every time Ive been to the E. R. and believe me with 4 kids 1 granddaughter and 2 exes along with bunches of friends I have been there often. I do not see this happening. |

As a adult you have the right to refuse medical attention @ any given time. Please be aware that if your in E.R. your probably there for a reason, so I don't know why you would want to refuse ... Seeing that you are already a Nurse and you just want to move to a different department. I would ask if there is anything that is expected of you that is not within the job description. Most times ... I used to be an ER nurse. Let me start a list: stab wounds, gunshot wounds (some self-inflicted), hot gall bladders, hysterical teenage girls, drunk drivers and their victims, heart attacks, stroke... The yearly cost is equal to about 12 days of the Iraq war. Anyone who suggests opposing it is about the money is either uniformed or dishonest.The American right tries to push an agenda of uncompr... if u mean to determine the triage level for this patient, i will rate it as urgent. ...It is true what the last person said, it is hard to put a story about saving someone's life into writing, but I can tell you about an experience that I had while still in nursing school.
