New methods and practices in emergency nursing?

New methods and practices in emergency nursing?

i think youll have to elaborate more. are you talking about what are some of the new methods and pratices in emergency nursing? tons.

of course there are new CPR and ACLS standards, so those should be in practice. also, some ERs have been instituting Code Alpha teams, which act as pre code blue team (my ER uses one). these are for when family members think something is wrong and they need a bit more attention than the nurse can give, when the nurse may not be sure exactly what is wrong and needs some 'backup', or other precarious situations where things may be going bad and the pt needs more monitoring. the team is usually made up of a respiratory therapist and critical care chg nurse (either from ICU or ER). these are helpful and help provide better pt. care since you know how us ER nurses are always running around ragged trying to manage 4 patients at once...helps for when patients start going bad and we need extra help or monitoring.
