What is the pre-operative nursing management to a conscious patien who needs emergency appendectomy?

what is the pre-operative nursing management to a conscious patient who is about to undergo an emergency appendectomy utilizing the nursing process.

Take your vitals, ask if your scared, give you something to calm you down. Check your iv's. Put the adhesive connectors in proper places that will hook up to machines. Ask what procedure you're having done, your name, your surgeon's name. Ask if you have any allergies to meds. Get you another warm blanket if you want one., and a hair net.

well the nurses take the vitals, put the necessary IV's in, ask questions like if the patient is scared or how scared on a scale of 1-10, they weigh the patient for correct dosage of anesthetics and other medication. the doctor and operating nurse will come in and answer any questions the patient or the family have. they may give medication to relax the patient before the surgery.

guess what, thats my online assignment. cool
