Inq on Forensic Nursing? |
I am wanting to go into the field of forensic nursing but I am not quite sure what path I need to take to get there. Any information is appreciated. Contact the college you are interested in applying to, speak with the Director of Nursing. You will need a degree in Nursing and in Criminal Justice. I am sure you will need at least a BS in Nursing. Good Luck and Congratulations to you! Best bet would be to investigate at any school of medicine. Some universities do actually have this as a major. The other option, is that you approach your local forensics department (police or similar) to obtain further information. I am a nursing student myself and was unaware that this field existed. Anyway, no matter what you will need to become certified/registered so you will need to go to school to get your degree/diploma in nursing. Then I suppose you'd apply for any forensic positions open to nurses. Your other options are to major in forensics while doing your nursing degree or diploma, or to find a school that offers that specific program. But no matter what you will need to get your degree/diploma/certification in nursing. |
