What are the issues with regards to the results of a HIV test ....? |
when you are taking antibiotics when you have the test. I noticed a sign in the clinic saying that you should state if you are on antibiotics when you have your blood test for the above done. My sister had the blood test and it came back negative but she takes antibiotics for urinary tract infections regularly and is now worried that these may have affected the testing. I would take the test again just to be on the safe side for myself and my partner, but thats me. You are just going to have to ask someone from that profession. When in doubt...The white blood cell count is affected by antibiotics. To clear her conscience retake the test. could you ring the STD clinic where the test was taken maybe they can give you the information. also NHS dirct usually get back fairly quickly. Antibiotics have no effect on the outcomes of an HIV test. |
