As a nurse, how can I meet people over the internet with Hiv/Aids , cancers to provide support?

How can i meet people over the internet perhaps that need counselling or a listening ear or just someone to talk to who have received a health diagnosis and need support? As a nurse, I am even willing to offer my cell # if someone needs to talk- to volunteer my time.

You're walking a dangerous line with this idea. God Bless you for being so thoughtful, but you need to think of YOURSELF first. There are a lot of people out there who would use your help, but there are some whack-jobs out there who would LOVE to get your name and number. Additionally, any medical information you give could put you at risk for lawsuit.

To play it safe...and still reach those you want to help, check out this site:

Volunteering with an established group will help you reach out without putting yourself AND your career in danger.

Best of luck!!

I would start with Dr's offices that treat the patients. My mother past of Breast Cancer and was going to start something at the hospital for a support to those who battled and battleing. Maybe you should do that, what a fantastic person you are for even thinking of that. I would start at the hospital. Good for you, people like you make this world that much better!

THere ar usually forums for people going through that if you go to a doctor's office they won't tell you because of confidentiality so a forum is your best bet.
