I have a tough nursing question that maybe someone can help me with...i have ask it in the add details box.?

a patient your age has just learned she has tested positived for hiv virus. make a list of some of the learning i.e ( cognitive, psychomotor, and effective) that you think should take place. what sort of things might effect her readiness to learn? how would you tailor your nursing in reponse to these variables?

lol, i have no clue. however, my mother is a doctor so maybe i can ask.

I would like to encourage you to think for your own self.

Imagine you are the patient. What would you want to learn, and when?

Do an ethics consult if you work at a hospital. You don't want to make all those decisions on your own. There are committees at hospitals and other medical institutions for this purpose. This can be part of your answer if you are doing this as homework for your nursing class.

First thing she needs to learn are ways of transmission of the HIV virus, the evolution of the disease she can expect, and the meaning of CD4 count and Viral load tests and her personalized treatment option.

Later she can learn about prevention of oportunistic diseases, sexual behavior, etc.
