I think i have hiv but the nurse lied to me and they guy who gave it to me new he had it what can i do ...? |
About 6 years ago a guy i slept with told me he had hiv so i went and got tested and it was negative. I went back 6 mo later and retested and the nurse told me I didnt have it but on the paper it said aids anti-body:positive. I asked her what that ment and she said not to worry that i didnt have it. Its always bothered me so i looked in a medical dictionary and found out that may mean i have it. Could the nurse have lied? Can i sue? If i have it that means i may have given it to multiple people over the years. Can i get the guy who gave it to me locked up since he knew he had it? 1. Get re-tested just get retested Get restested somewhere else. If it's true talk to local Police about charging the guy that passed it on to you. Maybe there was a "positive" box and a "negative" box and a check mark next to negative, but the word "positive" would still be there. if you do have it, you could sue my advice: consult a lawyer, see what they think yes you could have it if its active you start to be treated or die go to the local county or city health clinics or free clinic or planned parenthood for a retest and take along a list of questions and wear protection with any sex partner even the boyfriends why they could have random sex with anyone or thing If you did have it, they would have had to report it. I would call back to the place you were tested, and have someone look it up and tell you again. sorry for you situation, but why sleep with someone who you know has hiv? and why are you having unprotected sex, life is too short to be this way, i think you need to go to your dr asap or to an AIDS testing center!! First thing--GET YOURSELF TESTED AGAIN! Then work with these results. if the test was negative and you are doubting it then get another test done. She would not have lied i think. As for the guy that gave it to you, it is a criminal offense to willingly give someone aids/HIV without their consent, i know that sounds stupid but you did consent to the sex so it would be difficult to prove. see a solicitor but get retested first Go immeidatly and get retested by a different clinic telling them the story and go from there. If you have it request a copy of the records from the clinic or facility you had your first test and compare the new from the old. Then talk to a lawyer and just say your curious to know if theres a chance. BEST OF LUCK hun you need to see another doctor but take a lawyer with you so he or she can explain medical terms if you are in the right your lawyer will take it from there if you are wrong then CELEBRATE! Calm down.. Go to another doctor and get retested.. i do not see why a nurse would lie to you.. but if she did yes.. then you can sue.. not sure about sueing the guy.. "Aids ANTI-body". that means that your aids anti bodies are still in tact if you would to get aids. Anti-bodies are the things that fight off sickness. have a anorther test and if he knew he was HIV positive then yes you can get him locked up. i think an anti-body is like a vaccination to help fight the virus...but if ur not sure go to another clinic to get checked out. but i kno lots of people who have missed the virus by an inch...its not always transimitable....although u still stand the chance...one of my bff matt [[he gay]] had sex with an hiv positive man and got tested 2 times 6 months later and was negative...so dont stress over it..just pray that ur ok So for 6 or more years, you had suspicion that you may actually have aids and yet you still went and had unsafe sex? You just said you may have given it to many others, so I assume the 1st experience of unprotected sex taught you nothing. I have to be honest, only an idiot wouldn't have learned from something as devastating as the threat of having HIV. During those 6 years, did it ever occur to you, to get another test? Surely you must have some common sense? Your next action should be to get tested and to alert all past partners even before you get the test, that you may have the disease and that you suspected for a long time that you might, that way if it does come back positive, they can decide if they want to send your **** to jail. I assume you still have a copy of the report? If not, call the doctor's office and ask to pick up a copy of the test results. Then, I would recommend that you get tested again, just to be sure. I am wondering if you saw an area on the test that had to be marked to be postive. I find it unlikely that she would have lied to you. And if she did - then that would be a major malpractice suit. well if you go to another hospital and find out that you have stop sleeping around. now you are paying the ultimate price for your bad decisions. if he gave it to you purposely yes. if he didnt know and then found out he was hiv positive it was right of him to tell you which he did. you are the one who didnt listen to all the commercials, your parents and thought you were mature and wanted to have sex. sorry to say.the truth hurts. this is what happens to millions of people everyday. if they would just realize they are not as smart as they think and listen to their parents, this wouldnt have happened. condoms dont prevent pregnancy 100 percent of the time. why would you think you couldnt get aids. you have it now, thats your own fault. stop trying to place the blame elsewhere. fact is- we are where we are today because of every decision we ever made. own up to it. it is your fault .and whoever else you gave it to.such a shame.antibodies indicate eposure to something and you knew when you went to get tested that you were exposed.keep an eye on yourself.get tested and pray that you will be okay and change your life, this is a huge red flag.a huge lesson. dont be stupid and forget about it. i don't think u can have him locked up but if i were u i would go 2 a different doctor and get tested again if its positive sue the other doctor but that's my opinion. I'd complain about the nurse to your local medical board. Whether you could sue, I don't know. But I would definitely say she lied.. unless she said you have AIDS rather than HIV. You should have discussed your results with a doctor, not a nurse. this is why you were always told to use condoms and if the guy told you he had it well that was on you when you went to bed with him now you say you have had many others well they were not told by you that you had it so they could sue you but by the boy telling you now that is your own problem. it's my understanding that one can test positive for HIV but not necessarily develop AIDS. go back to the nurse (or someone else) and have them explain to you in detail. it's more important that you be informed and understand your own body and health than that you start suing and arresting. get tested and get hiv rna test , I was blood donor and all my tests in negative and I seen there was some people had false test results and I made sure they give me all my results when I was blood donor ro ruled out if there was anything. I had to stop cause of sexural assulted. good luck , if you find out yes u can sue them |
