For doctors and/or nurses: what should I do??

My situation: My period is very irregular, sometimes I wouldn't have it for months. I also have hair growing where I hear that it shouldn't (on breasts around nipples and on shoulders and back). I have heard that these may be the symptoms for a hormonal imbalance and/or for polycystic ovarion syndrome. Do you think this is probable and what are the consequences if I don't go to a doctor? Can this cure naturally on it's own or do I absolutely have to go to the doctor's? (I don't qualify for medical aid anymore for some reason and I don't have the money to go to the doctor's right now.) What should I do?? =(

I am not a doctor but I can tell you that you should go SEE one. Any real doctor or professional nurse would not give you a diagnosis or any other guaranteed information over yahoo answers. The only advise they would give you is to go SEE one.

I am a medical assistant, please go to the doctor or look in the phone book for a free clinic. I can't diagnose you because i am not a doctor but if you think there is something not right with your body then please go see a doctor and get checked out. Good luck

It does sound like a hormonal imbalance...If youre young then i wouldnt worry about your periods being irregular....thats normal. As far as the hair, this is not totally uncommon and ultimately is not life threatening im sure BUT it will not correct itself...it might get alittle better as your hormones balance.

also not a doktor but they say that you are the best judge of your own boddy so if you feel someting is not right go check it out.

Go to a health center they will talk to you on a sliding scale Most likely you have a harmone in blace

hi
i am a doctor....

you seem to have pcod if you are young..
yeah they can resolve on their own , but thats not very often..

there is a definite chance of cancer too..
i dont want to scare you but , there is a chance..

But know this pcod is the most common cause of infertility
do u really want to be infertile..
why not get it checked..
drugs can itself treat it
rarely surgery may be needed.
rarely do u need surgery for that...

atleast get a sonography done...
