Back ace problems? |
I work as a certified nursing assistant, and there is a lot of lifting involved. I know the proper body mechanics, i've been an aid for 11 years, and i've never hurt my back before. But now I have this tremendis pain in my lower back, and it's killing me! What do you suggest? Thanks in advance = ( I know about the proper body mechanics, as far as lifting, lift with your legs not your back, and so on...... heck im one of the ones that tell new girls on the job about it, I can't stress it enough!, Im not even sure when exactley I hurt my back, usually a person can pin-point when it happened, but for some reason I can't. Just one day I woke up and bam!! I was in a lot of pain. I can't even bend over with out being in pain! And trust me, for the kind of work I do....... I need my back lol. So if somebody can share their experiances and tell me what worked, it will be greatley apreciated! thanks again in advance!, oh and p.s....... do you reconmend that icy hot stuff?? I have been a Certified Nursing Assistant for almost six months and I pulled my back out in early August. I went to the doctor and he set me up for Physical Therapy. It helped a lot and I have exercises I do when my back hurts really bad. 2 weeks ago I started having pains in my right leg and in my foot.and the pain would shoot up to my hip. I went to my doctor again and turned out I had a herniated disc; he told me to take Aleve and Nexium(to prevent stomach ulcers). I take that a lot because I work in a long-term care facility. Ice is okay for your back when you first do it but heat is really what helps with the healing process. I would see your doctor if it is really really bad. I am really sorry about your injury! See a Chiropractor. They work miracles. Also make sure you have the right shoes and lift correctly. You might have a pinched nerve or muscle strain. I know your job is very physical. it's almost definitly muscle strain. I think just about everyone gets that at some point regardless of job. Just put a heat pack on it, and rest it as much as possible. Get your bf to massage the area. ICE, ICE, and more ICE....... Lay on it for 15 minutes, wait for 30 minutes, then lay on it for 15 more. This is what the chiro had me do, and boy does it help. Yoga For Back Pain |
