Dr.Suess for nursing moms!?

Dr. Seuss for Nursing Moms

Would you nurse her in the park?
Would you nurse him in the dark?
Would you nurse him with a Boppy?
And when your boobs are feeling floppy?

I would nurse him in the park,
I would nurse her in the dark.
I'd nurse with or without a Boppy.
Floppy boobs will never stop me.

Can you nurse with your seat belt on?
Can you nurse from dusk till dawn?
Though she may pinch me, bite me, pull,
I will nurse her `till she's full!

Can you nurse and make some soup?
Can you nurse and feed the group?
It makes her healthy strong and smart,
Mommy's milk is the best start!

Would you nurse him at the game?
Would you nurse her in the rain?
In front of those who dare complain?
I would nurse him at the game.
I would nurse her in the rain.

As for those who protest lactation,
I have the perfect explanation.
Mommy's milk is tailor made
It's the perfect food, you need no aid.

Some may scoff and some may wriggle,
Avert their eyes or even giggle.
To those who can be cruel and rude,
Remind them breast's the perfect food!

I would never scoff or giggle,
Roll my eyes or even wiggle!
I would not be so crass or crude,
I KNOW that this milk's the perfect food!

We make the amount we need
The perfect temp for every feed.
There's no compare to milk from breast-
The perfect food, above the rest.

Those sweet nursing smiles are oh so sweet,
Mommy's milk is such a treat.
Human milk just can't be beat.

I will nurse, in any case,
On the street or in your face.
I will not let my baby cry,
I'll meet her needs, I'll always try.
It's not about what's good for you,
It's best for babies, through and through.

I will nurse her in my home,
I will nurse her when I roam.
Leave me be lads and ma'am.
I will nurse her, Mom I am.

Whats your favorite part about nursing your baby?

My favorite part is when he is really hungry and I start to nurse him, he moans after every one of those first couple of swallows and looks at me with his crinkled eyebrows.LOL.It's hard to explain, but ssssoooo cute!

Roflolol!!!
This ROCKS!!!!
Did you write this??? If so- good job on you!!!

I love everything- I love the fact it has never needed to be prepared, I love that she is 15 months old and has never been sick.

Today as she was snuggling and nursing- I was tickling her hand and she was giggling. So, I think it's the quiet bonding and play we have while she nurses.

I love this question!!!

awww i love that!!! i'm preg with my first so havent nursed yet... i'm nervous & excited tho =D

I'm no longer nursing, but when I was, I loved the fact that I didn't have to get out of bed to prepare a bottle. It's always ready, not preparation. I also loved the bonding time. Since my husband couldn't take a big role in feedings, we would cuddle on the couch while I was nursing, it was great family only time. Now that our son is almost 3, daddy can take a more active role in feeding, but I do miss the bonding of breastfeeding.

I don't know what my favorite part is, but just want to say I love your rhyme. Thanks for sharing!

Very cute poem! Reminds me of Green Eggs & Ham, my (nursing) daughter's favourite!!

My favourite part of nursing is definitely the look on her face when she's suckling and when her hand strokes my breast - so caring & cute!!! Also, when she pulls herself off, smiles up at me and then falls asleep. I love knowing I'm giving her the best start to her wonderful life!!

Oh I love this poem, I haven't seen it in a long time!!!

I am sure my favorite thing about nursing is the close bond, and the convenience of nursing!

Great poem!! So true!!

My favorite part has to be, "though she may pinch me, bite me, pull...". My third son is doing all three on a regular basis, but I won't give up until he is AT LEAST 1!! I gave up around 9 months with my others because of teething...which I now regret.

Thank you for reminding me of ALL the reason why I love to nurse my babies!! :)

Thank you for that poem, it is great! I think my favorite part is that I am the only one who can do it! Even though our 2 month old daughter is held, cuddled, changed and rocked by all our family members and friends....Mommy is the only one who feeds her. I also love that she reaches out to hold onto, or touch me when she is eating. I feel so close to her then.

ahh... i am so envious of you young moms who get to nurse your babies. i unfortunately didn't have a wonderful experience.

back in the day i was very tiny, 110, no breasts to speak of... underweight but not by choice, just that way. anyway, great pregnancy with 1st born, body bounced back quick, but my teenie little breasts got so HUGE that my baby couldn't get a hold of me to nurse. i tried everything and it was so frustrating. i ended up expressing my milk to get it out and bottle fed him. he was much happier with that because he could drink more. after 4 weeks i gave up, i think we both (baby & me) were frustrated. my breasts got so huge and it was so painful, the dr. actually gave me some medicine to dry me up. he said it's not worth what i was going through and maybe with the next baby will work out better.

5 years later 2nd baby comes along and guess what... same thing. i got so scared the first few days that i just decided not too even try it. yes... i had formula just in case and thank goodness i did. maybe i chickened out too soon...

i got through both pregnancies with no stretch marks to speak of on my tummy, but boy my breasts were a mess.
