What happen if a doctor or nurse gets Aids DO THEY LOOSE THERE JOBS? No they do not usually lose their jobs. Healthcare professionals protect the public from themselves by using good universal precautions. There are many people who are HIV + who don't know it. That is why Doctors and nurses wear gloves, etc. Not normally, as this would go against their rights. There was a case I was working on years ago, when another staff member contracted the hiv virus I cannot disclose how this happened but no she was not fired just put on light duties and didnt work closley to patients. although she did leave and I often wonder how she is.... hope this helps no |
