What is a nurse aid? I think the job is in a nursing home...what would be the job duties?

Nurse aid is Financial aid!!!!!!

A nursing assistant will take temperatures, blood pressures, assist the nurse with moving patients, (including to/from the toliet). Talking with patients, helping them dress, bathing them.

I nurse aid pretty much gets orders from the Rn or the LPN the do all the dirty work, move the patients to and from wheelchairs, take them to the bath or clean up after they go to the bathroom, feed them bathe them, talk to them, clean up after them take them to different activities. Stuff like that I just started the program to be a nurses aid and so far its going good!

A nurse aid can either work at the hospital, at a nursing home or they can visit each patient within the patient's home. A nurse aide usually assists with bathroom duties- sponge bath, feeding or preparing the patient's meals. Conduct simply checks like blood pressure, give out medication to be taken, record simple stats on a chart. Depending on the patient's needs a nurse aid duties can be very broad but they are not trained to prescribe or diagnose anybody.

Attending to sick people, not glamorous.
Changes sheets, cleaning up poop, giving baths.
If you've got a really big heart and a strong stomach, go for it.

i agree with everyone a nurses aid is the one that catches all the slack you work under the nurse. It is your responsibility to take care of all their activitys of daily life example- changing ,feeding ,walking, showering, etc.
