What is the definition, caustive agent, host, diagnostic test & nursing management of AIDS?

The definition is a disease that causes suppression of the immune system by targeting and killing our "T-helper" cells, which are vital in the role of the immune system in protecting us.

The causative agent is one of two viruses, HIV-1, which comes from chimpanzees and is far worse, and HIV-2, which comes from the Green Macabay monkey. Both are Human Immunodeficiency viruses, but remember that HIV-1 is worse.

The host is humans and more importantly our T-Helper cells in our body.

The diagnostic test is the ELISA test or the Wasserman test, although the ELISA is MUCH more effective.

The nursing management would be to make sure that you put everything that comes from a patient's bodily fluids in a biohazard bag, never deal with blood, saliva, or other fluids without gloves, goggles, and an apron. And give the person what is called HAART, or Highly Active AntiRetroviral Therapy, which combines 3 drugs into an effective anti-HIV treatment.

Hope this helps!

definition: acquired immune deficiency disorder is a breakdown of the body's immune system due to the human immunodeficiency virus.

diagnostic test: a simple blood test for hiv antibodies

nursing management: depending on the severity of the condition; medication facilitation and management, follow-up care, blood tests, routine check-ups, pain management under a doctor's supervision, and perhaps hospice care.

AIDS. Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome. Causative organism is a virus. By doing Eliza Test of blood it can be determined. Due to depressed immune system body find itself unable to fight a foreign body "infection". Ultimately as no decease is being cured person dies of multiple decease.
