What is effective pain remediation for terminal MS? |
A friend suffers from the terminal phase of MS. Hospice is in charge of his care. The pain remediation is a nurse supplied Morphine in a liquid drop. He has communication difficulty and the nurse is slow to respond. He therefore lays in pain. I assume you friend is having problems swallowing hence the Morphine Liquid drop. They may want to consider putting him on a IV Morphine drip or even a Fentynal patch in addition to the break through pain control being the Liquid Morphine. Ask his health care power of attorney to speak to the nurses and advocate for him. the morphine needs to be increased They you have to speak for him. I hate to say this hospice can be slow to jump but with you, who seems to be able to speak can get the ball rolling. I do not believe that you need power of attorney, but you may want to see to what extent you can be a third party speaker for this friend. OK since your friend has terminal ms, he should be allowed oxy coden. it is the strongest pain med out there. It is the mos addictive and the most thought out drug illegally. Street value is twenty five bucks a pill. You can only get if from a dr. I had parts of my lung removed, and I do not smoke. i had a twelve inch cut from the middle of my back to under my breasts. I was taking three tabs in morning and three in eve. These are very addicting but since your friend is dying he should be comfortable. I have been told some people get 100 mg at a time, I took 30 mg at a time. ask for oxy coden........ and say he is dying so at least make him comfortable. morphine is children's tylenole compared to oxy coden. |
