My nan is v v ill?

my nan is very ill angina dementure and emzema in hospital at the moment weve all thounght she would have gone last time.
she didnt. now its at the point where shes really destressed without a family member to calm her she lives in a rest home but we dont think they can provied sufficiant care being a carer myself i know they cant every time she goes in hospital she has steroid drip anti-biotic drip and fluids i was just woundering with all the old people hospitals shut it there any wher between hospiltal and a nursing home as they can not cater for her needs? any where not a hospice because we dont know how long shell go on 4 but somwher that will reduce her hospital stays some where where they can provide drips and a doctor on call?as they really distress her?

she is in a rest home at the moment but shes so settled there and gets so distressed that we though it would be better for her to stay where she knew she is in hospital now and we dont really know weather shes going to come out! but we think she needs more care so are looking at nursing homes but none of the ones weve looked at have the level of care she needs?

When she is not being hospitalized, is your Nan in a "Nursing Home"? There are multiple levels of care available at different places.
Sounds like your Nan is too ill to be in an "Assisted Living" facility and she needs a "Skilled Nursing" facility where she can get IV medications and drips. (In order for her to go to a "Skilled Nursing" facility, she will need a semi-permanent IV in place called a PICC line.
Since she is in the hospital now, you or your family should ask to speak with the "Discharge Planner/Social Worker" assigned to her case. (every patient in the hospital has one of these people assigned to their case)
With the help of this person, you should be able to get your Grandmother transferred to a higher level of care facility.

Good luck. If you have any questions or need more help, let me know.

Between all of you, you guys should take turns talking care of her, Medicare and Medicald will pay for in home heath care for her, it will also help if she is around love ones, get books about Caregivers, and read up on how to take care of and older person, with in home heath care you'll have someone to come into your home, to help with Bathing, Dressing, and feeding, and much much more, when we were a kid our mothers didn't put us in a home, so why should we do this to them, she didn't have to have us but she did...... Choosing a Nursing Home should be the last choice you make. I'm taking care of my mother all by my self, with no help from my sister are brothers, and if i had to do it all over again i would, i love her that much....

Your Nan is obviously very ill. The thing to do if you do not feel that she is getting sicker in the Nursing Home that she is in and that no one is helping her, you probably need to get her to an Emergency Room. When a person has emphysema, they are having a difficult time with their breathing and that needs to be addressed immediately. I am sorry that doctors put her in distress, but if they help her breathe better, what choice do you have? I have an e-book that explains emphysema in a very simple way. I will put the link below.

she most likely needs a skilled nursing unit. not quite a nursing home, not a hospital either. see what her dr recommends
